Just for your readers -- here's the latest update on women-owned businesses -- released 9/12.

As of 2008, there are 10.1 million businesses 50% or more owned by a woman; employing 13 million people and generating nearly $2 trillion in revenues. 26% of all women business owners are women of color.

Between 1977 and 2002, the number of women-owned businesses skyrocketed by 824%. During the same period, the number of women-owned businesses with $1 million or more grew by 2,000%!
